Lundy Island Seal Diving Adventure 2024
13 – 15 September 2024
Lundy Island is a small granite outcrop, three miles long and half a mile wide that lies off the coast of North Devon, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Bristol Channel, where the cool, clear, oceanic waters from the Gulf Stream mix with the clear, but warmer, waters from the Mediterranean.
Home to hundreds of Atlantic Grey seals and a protected marine ecosystem, Lundy is truly one of the greatest diving spots in Europe… don’t miss this trip!
Following our awesome seal diving trip to the Farne Islands in 2022, we decided to try out another seal dive and wildlife hot spot in the UK.
Lundy Diving in Ilfracombe. North Devon
We chose Lundy Diving after meeting them at the Go Diving Show in 2023, and hearing great things about them. We we not disappointed. Our Skipper was Ben and we boarded the Barbara B, a large vessel with plenty of space for 12 divers and a lift, to make getting out effortless! Our Crew were Carl and Gemma. The whole team were very professional, friendly and easy going.
Diving with Seals!
Our group did two full days of diving and snorkelling. There were some truly amazing moments with the seals, who came to spend quite a bit of time with us throughout our 4 dives. Our team comprised 10 divers (plus 2 snorkellers), who completed a total of 39 dives, an average depth of 8.5m and a total of just over 36 hours underwater (combined). The water temperature was around 17 degrees and visibility between 6 – 8 metres.
Join us next time!
We run diving and snorkelling trips all over the UK. Become part of our Dive Club and join us on future adventures.
